As promised I wanted to share our (mainly Lauren’s, she’s the organised one) list of New York recommendations with you. Unfortunately we didn’t have enough time to try most of them so I can’t personally comment on them and our experiences but I wanted to share them anyway. They are places that were recommended from friends, tiktok (obviously) and places we saw other people visit so hopefully the list will also become helpful for you.
I would recommend booking ahead as much as possible but we had a few days where we had no bookings and managed to either walk in or ring up on the day to get a booking incase you did want a little freedom like us.

Hotel.
Public Hotel.
We stayed at Public hotel which I would definitely stay at again. The location was amazing (Soho), which I think is one of the moment important things when booking a New York hotel. We personally spent a lot of time in Soho and could walk to a lot of places. It was also super easy to get a taxi into other areas such as Dumbo, Meatpacking district and Central Park.
The hotel is also beautifully designed, the rooms are small but I think this may just be a common thing for New York hotels from what I’ve heard. For reference we had the ‘Queen room with a beautiful view’ and requested to be high up (we were on the 16th floor), we also requested an extra clothing rail because the wardrobe space was TINY but the hotel staff were more than helpful.
Other hotels that we looked at were Ludlow and Arlo hotel.
