2017 for me is essentially about taking more flights, visiting countries that I’ve never been to and exploring new cities. At the end of 2017 my best friend and my forever travel companion planned a trip to Switzerland. A place that hasn’t always been on my Wishlist of places to visit but we found our dream hotel which happened to be located in Zurich, Switzerland.
Kameha Grand Zurich is a charming hotel based in Zurich’s business district which is conveniently located a short drive from Zurich Airport. The hotel is not directly close to Zurich’s old town but taxi’s are available (at a cost) or alternatively you can use a tram which is also a great way to also see the city!
Setting standards high for all other 5* hotels, Kameha Grand Zurich is defiantly not short of personality, it’s flamboyant, chic and has plenty of character to keep you mezorised for your stay.
With a selection of 245 rooms you are spoilt for choice, all rooms are beautifully decorated in their own style but all equally modern and stylish. Kameha Grand Zurich is made up of 245 rooms, 12 of which are themed suites. Including a workout suite to a Burlesque suite, the hotel really does have it all. The hotel suites were one of the main selling points for us when looking for hotels and on arrival we were not disappointed.
If you can tear yourself away from your own luxury suite then you will also see the hotels facilities are just as glamorous as your own private four walls. Evenings are best spent indulging in one of the hotels restaurants, both of which offer a wide variety.
We spent our first night at dining at the hotels restaurant, YOU. A French cuisine with influences from the Far East. Our experience was like no other, we had an evening of unforgettable taste testing of their 6 course menu. Each dish was completely different from the next, it was a great experience to try new things. Especially for a fussy eater like me who doesn’t normally like to venture out of my comfort zone.
After dinner I would highly suggest heading down to the hotel’s Shisha Lounge to wined down. Accompanied by relaxing music and authentic setting it’s easy to enjoy the authentic setting and Arabian themed night.
If the Shisha lounge isn’t for you why not spend your evening in the Puregold Bar, an cocktail lounge.
After a short hour an a half flight we arrived in Switzerland to be greeted by our own personal driver who was taking us to the hotel. It was the perfect start to the trip, not because of our chauffeur driven ride to the hotel but purely for the fact our driver was so welcoming and friendly that I instantly had a good feeling about our stay at Kameha Grand Zurich.
After a very enjoyable 30 minute drive and swift check in at reception we were shown to our first room of the trip. We were only in Switzerland for a short two days but we made sure to make the most of our time at the hotel and decided to stay in two different rooms while we was there.
I may never live in a castle or wear a grown but at least I can say I have spent the night like a princess!
The Princess suite is everything you would expect and more. Feminine pastel colours, beautiful furnishings and of course no princess room would be complete without a Hollywood style mirror and not forgetting the walk-in wardrobe. Decorated to perfection for any Princess, the beauty really is in the details.
I would highly recommend this room for a girls trip. It’s the perfect setting for a pamper night in with a cocktail and a catch up with your best friends. Don’t forget to make the most of your room and order room service and treat yourself to breakfast in bed, after all you are a Princess.
I got to live like a princess for one night so it was only fair that I experienced a night in the Gentleman’s suite. The suites may be complete polar opposite but they were both just as wonderful as the other.
Located on the 4th floor the Gentleman’s Suite could give James Bond a run for his money. Completed with a roulette table, gun lamp and masculine features the name for this suite could not be more fitting.
While it may not be suited to everyone’s taste or just for one individual guest, this room is perfect for a group or business travellers who are looking to unwind and have some fun. We may not have spent our evening playing roulette and drinking whisky but ladies don’t be fooled, this is not just a gentleman’s suite.
We spent our time in the suite enjoying the big free standing bath, mini bar and our own private seating area.
The Space Suite
Unfortunately we only had two nights at Kameha Grand Zurich so didn’t have enough time to stay in the Space Suite but we had seen the suite online and just knew we had to take a visit into space so we booked the room out for the day so I could show you just how amazing it really is.
I was instantly left speechless when walking into the room. You really get an outer space experience, which is so unique and special even for those who aren’t a space fan. The photos don’t even come close to showing the incredible details in this suite but some of the suite highlights for me has to be the floating bed and outer space furnishings.
When visiting Kameha Grand Zurich you get more than just a comfy bed and a place to stay for the night, you get an experience. The unique atmosphere of the hotel is worth a visit in itself. The staff are so welcoming and lovely you instantly feel like you are at home.
This luxury hotel is in a league of its own. There’s something about the hotel and staff which feels like no other.
I will defiantly be going back to visit, the FairPlay suite is next on my list!
